FACULTY OF ECONOMICS
1. OVERVIEW
In recent years, Vietnam's economy has undergone significant transformation. The introduction of the Enterprise Law in 2005, which encouraged the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, positively impacted the national economy, leading to the emergence of a large number of new businesses. In 2007, Vietnam officially became the 150th member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), marking a milestone in the country’s international economic integration. Since then, the demand for human resources in fields such as business, management, finance, and accounting has increased considerably.
Recognizing this demand, in September 2008, the Faculty of Economics was established at Ho Chi Minh City Vocational College, marking a new development milestone in the school’s journey, contributing to the broader progress of the national education system. The Faculty continuously updates and improves its curriculum and teaching materials, while its lecturers actively enhance their professional qualifications to improve training quality in line with practical needs and societal demands. In addition, the dedication and diligence of students have played a vital role in the faculty’s development.
With the motto: “Training to meet the real needs of businesses and society”, and with a learner-centered approach, the Faculty of Economics has designed a curriculum and teaching methodology that promote active learning and high practicality. This approach equips students with the necessary skills and adaptability to meet the growing demands of the labor market and keep pace with the development trends of the modern economy.
Graduates from the Faculty can take on various roles such as: managers, accountants, marketing and sales staff, office administrators, HR officers, procurement personnel, and more across different types of enterprises.
The Faculty is proud to have a highly qualified and dedicated teaching staff, with 100% holding a university degree and 65% holding a Master's degree, all committed to delivering high-quality education.
